THE INNER SPIRIT
Remember, the only thing at this stage of our lives that has any meaning is the evolution
of our inner spirit. It is here that our authentic identity is intrinsically connected.
The importance of this transcends elaborate verbal expression or concrete expressions
of our more superficial selves. That is, the part of us that has less importance.
How brilliant we appear to be in areas of science, math, literature, dance, music
and on and on has really little importance as we take slow measured steps toward
our next existence. It is the strength and brilliance of our spirits and hearts (
expressions of our emotional intelligence) that will determine the quality of our
next life. I believe this philosophy with all my heart. The only intelligence that
has any substantive and enduring meaning is the intelligence expressed from the depths
of our hearts. Those who lack this special gift lead lives that are meaningless and
empty. There is not enough so called higher education in the universe to fill the
black void that exists in a life that is bereft of emotional intelligence.
